Perfect for securing preassembled fasteners, Loctite® 290 is a liquid wicking threadlocker designed to penetrate and lock threads without the need for disassembly. Its low-viscosity formula uses capillary action to flow between engaged metal threads, sealing and locking them in place to prevent loosening and leakage caused by shock, vibration, or thermal cycling.

Once cured, Loctite 290 provides medium to high strength retention that can only be removed with the application of heat. It’s ideal for use on instrumentation screws, electrical connectors, and set screws, as well as for sealing porosities in welds, castings, and powdered metal parts.

With proven tolerance to minor oil contamination — including engine, cutting, and corrosion-prevention oils — this threadlocker performs consistently in industrial environments where perfect cleanliness isn’t always possible.
